Test Procedures...
1. Hammer Testing - Striking the surface - recording the
location of any hollow sounding areas. A uniform pattern of testing is
carried out.
2. Ferroscanner / Covermeter / Quickscan
-
Ferromagnetic core measures the induced current produced when another
ferrous object – usually the reinforcement. Obtain full data analysis.
3. Carbonation
Depth Testing - Carbonation testing is carried out to
determine the depth of carbonated concrete. The depth of carbonation is
assessed.
4. Dust samples for Analysis
- (i.e. Chloride, HAC, Sulphate, etc) Dust samples for concrete testing
are obtained, giving details of date, location, depth.
5. Determination
of chloride content of hardened concrete - Potentiometric
method is carried out in accordance with BS1881-124:1988.
