Camden Council, working in partnership with Avalon Abseiling is the first council in the country to use abseilers to access and insulate cavity walls. This method was developed as a cost-effective and easy way to insulate high rise tower blocks to ensure they are warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Insulating the homes via abseiling will be 40% cheaper for Camden, but it is not only money that is saved as insulating the homes via abseiling saves a lot of time due to the fact that there is no need to put up expensive and unsightly scaffolding.
The main benefactors of the project will be the residents. Improved insulation will help them save as much as £80 a year in bills as well as significantly reducing CO2 omissions.
